This is the continuation of Advertising Campaign 1, where students learn how to pitch advertising campaign ideas and work with real clients on an advertising campaign. They will also learn how to segment the audience, set the campaign, budget, plan and buy media. They will how conceive, develop and implement the campaign.

This course content emphasizes the production background, historical development, artistic characteristics, and cultural connotation of ancient Chinese bronzes. This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of ancient Chinese bronzes and the wisdom of ancient Chinese.

Synopsis :

This course focuses on basic economic theories such as the basic economic problems that arise from the scarcity concepts.  It deals with microeconomic theories such as demand and supply, price mechanism, elasticity concepts, utility theories, production and production cost theories, and market structures. It also highlights the role of government in an economy from the perspective of microeconomics.

The course presents to students the design, development, applications and organisational impact of management information system and decision support system from the managerial perspective.  Topics include system development life-cycle (SDLC), managerial perspective on computer hardware, software, communication technology, database management, and various information systems such as marketing information system, human resource information system, accounting information system and manufacturing information system.

This course provides an extension to the student’s knowledge acquired at the secondary school level and gives them a thorough grounding in basic mathematical and statistical techniques. In addition, it introduces and incorporates computer manipulation techniques into topics that require repetitive calculations. Topics include simple and compound interest, present value, indices, ratio analysis, calculus and matrices.

This course exposes students to behavioural science theories and applications in management. Organisational Behaviour (OB) is an interdisciplinary field drawing from numerous disciplines including psychology, sociology, economics, organisation theory, statistics, and many others. After an overview of OB and how to assess the value-added of "soft" management interventions, topics will include work motivation, work attitudes, employee socialisation, work teams, leadership, decision making, organisationl structure and design.

This course provides an introduction to the study of consumer behaviour. The approach taken examines all aspects of consumer behaviour and consumption including the acquisition, use and disposal of a variety of products services and ideas. The course however is not limited to consumer behaviour in the strictest sense of the term. Instead, attention will also be focused on what consumers think and feel, whether this is ultimately related to buying behaviour or not in order to provide a broad overview of the multiple ways in which consumer behaviour can be understood.

This course provide students an understanding of inventories and materials, how these contribute as cost to the organisation. Topics include material planning management and demand forecasting. Frequently used techniques in inventory planning like EOQ, demand lead time, ABC inventory classification, inventory performance management and so on are taught in this course.

This course focuses on the history of Malaysian Chinese in the past two centuries, its changes and reforms. It also discusses the historical status of our ancestors. Besides, through the interpersonal network and significant achievements of the personalities of different times, the students understand the development of Malaysian Chinese history.

本课程的授课范围主要涵盖中国唐代的诗歌创作与宋代的词作。课程内容着重在导引同学对中国诗词的发展、诗词体的规制、作品的诠释与创作具有系统的认识与理解，并进而深体诗词人的生活状况、时代风格的特质，以及反思古典诗词与当代社会的互动关系。通过这门课的学习，使学生系统地掌握唐宋诗词发展的基本轮廓，以及诗词这种文学样式的基本知识；理解并掌握各个时期代表作家的代表作品，能深入细致地分析、评论诗词，较准确地把握其思想情感及艺术特征，具备对唐宋诗词的阅读与鉴赏能力。

This course examines the development and trends of Chinese literature in Hong Kong and Taiwan from the early nineteenth century to the present day, including in-depth study of selected major writers and their works.

This course introduces Yuan “qu” to students, including its development, rules and patterns, contents, styles, schools, and the differences between Yuan “qu” and other traditional poetry and plays. The history of Chinese opera is explained with the emphasis on Yuan “qu”. Distinguished writers’ contributions and their works of Yuan “qu” are dealt with.

本课程向学生传递“元曲”的相关概念，包含：散曲及戏曲的发展与流变，散曲及戏曲的体制﹑风格与内涵，散曲与其他传统诗体的分别，杂剧与其他传统戏剧的异同等。课程中对中国传统戏剧史将有一全面性鸟瞰，并介绍传统戏剧的表演方式及欣赏要领，但焦点乃在元代杂剧的产生及认识。课程亦将介绍元曲代表性作家的生平﹑风格及其影响，并引导学生赏析代表性元曲创作。

This course covers the development of Malaysian Chinese literature from 1919 to 1990. It is divided into two parts. The first part discusses the development of Malaysian Chinese literature. The second part, focus on special topics related to Malaysian Chinese literature.

This course covers the sound systems of Chinese language and its development in different periods. This course provides students with the understanding of Chinese phonological system. Through the patterns of phonetic variation of ancient and present pronunciation, students will grasp the patterns of phonetic structure of modern Chinese. The main topics cover the functions of phonology, the general knowledge of phonology, “Qie Yun”（切韵） system, “Guang Yun”（广韵）sound system and Chinese phonology of medieval times. It is closely related to Chinese history, dialectology, philology, lexicology, exegetics and literature.  Therefore, by learning this course, students will understand the history of the phonetic evolution.

Research Pratice II is the major and comprehensive practice and teaching session for the Diploma graduates before their graduation. It requires students to apply their acquired theories and knowledge to identify problems and solve problems. Through the guidance and supervision of the supervising lecturers, students shall carry out fundamental research to collect and analysis data based on the research proposal presented and submitted in “Research Practice I” course, and complete the first draft of thesis/research paper, work out at least 50% of the first draft of dissertation and reading report.

It is the greatest test to examine the quality of teaching and learning, besides enhance their ability to apply professional knowledge and theories and obtain a grade for their final thesis and presentation.

This course selected masters and master pieces of literature from 3 major languages in Malaysia, leading students to examine and inquiry into literary works of various streams, namely: Malay literature, Malaysian Chinese literature, and Malaysian English literature. 课程摘要Synopsis

This course enable students to master prose and novel writing skills and enjoy the writing process through appreciation and composition. In prose teaching contain, the basic prose writing knowledge and skills are explained to students such as choosing materials, ways of expression and amendments. Students are guided to complete few essays to practice the expressions of emotion and ideas in their prose. It is expected that students’ ability to appreciate and analyse proses are enhanced, and their creativity and the interests to prose writing are inspired. In novel appreciation and writing part, the literary theories and trends are introduced to students as the base to appreciate novels. Students are guided to create their own novel by reading novel carefully to learn about the writing structures and skills. Therefore, theories and practice are combined. At the end of this course, every student is expected to complete at least one novel creation.

This course introduces students the fundamental knowledge of poetry and lyrics writing and appreciation, which includes the definition of poems and lyrics, the developments of modern poerty and lyrics, the composition of poem and lyric and the writing skills. Representative works are chosen as examples to help students understand the poem and lyrics writing theories; and students’ abilty to analyse and appreciate poems and lyrics will be enhanced by closely reading those important poetry and lyrics works. Apart from theory learning, students are guilded to write lyrics and modern poetry to express their own thoughts and emotions.

This course focuses on the principles of good public relations writing, which cover various techniques in producing different materials such as news release, media advisory, letter, speech, newsletter and brochure. Students will learn how to write for a variety of media with clarity and insight. On successful completion of this course, students will be able to utilise range of public relations writing tools and demonstrate good writing skills.

This course introduces students to marketing principles and policy.  It examines historical and contemporary marketing philosophies, concepts, and theories. Topics of discussion include marketing functions, pricing policy and controls, product strategy, promotion strategy, trade channels and logistics, consumer behaviour, competitive strategy, the impact of environment on marketing and integration of marketing with other functions of business enterprises.

The course also delves into the concept of the public sphere, drawing on Jurgen Habermas' theories to explore media’s role in democracy. Other important topics include media ideology and its role in normalizing certain viewpoints, as well as the impact of technological advancements on the media landscape will also be studied as well.

This course introduces students to the development of Malaysian Chinese religious culture, and discusses how our ancestors brought the traditional folk beliefs from China to Malaysia where they took root，developed and changed. In addition，the connotation and significance of Malaysian Chinese beliefs and the role of folk religion in the various domains of the Chinese community are also dealt with.

Recent developments in the fields of computing, communications and information technology have made it a requirement for all professionals to possess and appreciate the basic operations of computer software applications. Hence, this course will teach students how to solve the most common word processing problems using a variety of skills including basic document creation, retrieval, editing, graphics and advanced formatting. Students will be introduced to spreadsheet application including data entry, creating formulas, using functions and graphing. Using presentation software, students will learn how to use computer technology to replace and/or augment traditional presentation tools.

The main topics covered include numbering systems, laws of arithmetical and algebra, evaluation of a polynomial, rules of indices and logarithms, linear equations, quadratic equation, sequences and series, rules of partial fraction, differentiation and its applications, integration and its applications, complex numbers, hyperbolic functions, matrices, vectors, curves and curve fitting, statistics and probability.
