The course examines the operation and management of the broadcast organisations. It also teaches students the decision making processes and research methods utilised in programme development, selection, promotion, scheduling and distribution. It also touches on copyright and ethical issues.

This course introduces students to the basic concepts of television production, which involve script writing, and technical aspects of producing a television program. It also provides students with basics understanding of producing television magazines and other productions. This course also will provide knowledge of simple television production and equipment.

The course introduces students to basic radio production terminologies, concepts and equipment. Students will also learn how to record and edit single and multiple audio tracts and use creative and functional applications of sound and audio. They are also introduced to internet radio and audio format. It also trains students to write for the radio and appear as presenters of radio programmes. Students will also have to produce a one-hour on air campus radio programme two days a week.

This course deals with the broadcast organisation, operation and management of the industry. It also teaches students the ways to know the audience, genres of broadcast programmes, sales and promotion, traffic and billing, distribution of programmes and copyright issues.

This course introduces students to the theories and concepts attached to the audio/visual in daily life. Theoretical engagement is expected and students will explore and employ different types of textual analysis. Different types of visual media will be dealt with including photography, magazine ad, film and TV advertising. Students will learn how meaning is produced and manipulated through the production of audio/visual media, which in turn produces different audience responses.
