Film, as a sophisticated and powerful visual narrative, often shapes our values, opinions and beliefs. Therefore, it is essential to study how films work, how they convey meanings to the audience and how they contribute to defining our society. By analysing the complex nature and difficulties in making films, we shall appreciate them more as a form of art.
