This course systematically studies the perspectives and concepts of
basic mass communication and their implications on media production. The scope
of this course ranges from analysis of face-to-face interaction between two
people to the study of large-scale communication processes affecting the lives
of millions. Besides exposing the effects of mass media on our society from the
political, economic and cultural perspectives, this course provides an insight
into important contemporary issues of mass media, such as globalisation and
ethics.
