Course info

This course will discuss one of the following Chinese classics, i.e. "The Classic of Poetry", "Chu Elegies", "ShiJi", "ZhuangZi", and "Dream of the Red Chamber". The ideological contents, artistic features, creative spirits, cultural tradition and nationalistic thoughts and of these classical Chinese literary works are explored, thus enhancing student’s knowledge of Chinese classical literary works and arousing their research interests in Chinese classics.

本课程以中国古代文学史上的名著为研读对象，然而中国历代文学经典浩若烟海，课程仅能选读以下五部作品：《诗经》、《楚辞》、《史记》、《庄子》、《红楼梦》。每次开课将从五部文学中择一研读，以完整阅读为原则。藉由探讨这些中国文学经典作品中所蕴涵的思想内容、艺术特色、创作精神、文化传统和民族思想，提升学生对文学经典的认识，并期能鼓励有志于研究的同学涉猎此一范畴。
