This course focuses on the language and cultures.In addition to learning the basics of language and culture, this course places special emphasis on investigation and practice, such as dialect investigation and practice, and cultural investigation and practice based on dialects, which are branches of language. The course introduces the formation of Chinese dialects, dialect subdivisions, and on this basis, the formation of Chinese dialects in Malaysia, their subdivisions, and the internal differences of each dialect. Through the study of Chinese dialects, the course explores the internal connection between Chinese dialects and Chinese culture, the cultural differences among dialects, and also introduces an introduction to the cultural research methods of different dialects of Malaysian Chinese.

本课程的授课范围主要是语言和文化为主，除了学习语言和文化的基础知识，本课程特别强调调查与实践，比如方言调查与实践、文化调查与实践为主，调查的对象以语言的分支——方言为主。课程介绍中国方言的形成、方言分区，在此基础上介绍马来西亚华人方言的形成、分区、各方言的内部区别。通过对华人方言的学习，探讨华人方言与华人文化的内在联系、各方言的文化差异，同时介绍马来西亚华人不同方言的文化研究方法简介。
